what I do:
The word doula /do͞olə/comes from the Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced birth professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the person giving birth. As your birth doula, I will provide evidence based educational information before labor, relaxation advice during pregnancy and labor, and position suggestions during labor to help you reach your personal birthing goals. It is my honor to support you during this monumental life experience along with the rest of your birth team (like your partner, friends, or relatives). We will all work together to create a safe space for you to process lots of really big and intense emotions that come with birthing your baby. You can expect that I will provide unwavering, nonjudgmental support, some laughter and help creating a space that you are comfortable to truly be yourself and step into your own power. This support helps allow you to feel safe and to confidently embrace the unpredictability of labor.
